Dimitris Plotas

Dimitris Plotas serves as a Plant Operations Manager at VIANEX SA, where he manages the development and digital transformation of the site’s manufacturing operations. His work centers on the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies, including AI-driven tools and IoT applications, to optimize production efficiency while ensuring sustained GMP compliance. He is responsible for overseeing continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives to improve operational performance.
With over a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Dimitris has managed complex technical projects involving the installation and qualification of diverse pharmaceutical systems. This expertise includes aseptic liquid filling lines, isolators, cleanrooms, automated inspection systems and track and trace packaging lines. Additionally, he has driven the implementation of various monitoring frameworks for different types of environmental control and OEE measurement. Currently, he is focused to the further development, integration and interconnectivity of the systems into a coherent ecosystem to enhance manufacturing intelligence and effectiveness.
Dimitris holds an M.Eng. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an Executive MBA from the University of Piraeus. He is currently pursuing further specialization in Chemical Engineering and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
